Vellis collects Personal Data when you register to receive information from Vellis, access the Website, use Vellis Services, and communicate with Vellis, including support queries.

Personal Data may include your title, first name, last name, email address, telephone number, job title, company you represent, office location, message data.

Vellis collects Non-Personal Data when you register to receive information from Vellis, access the Website, use Vellis Services, and communicate with Vellis, including support queries.

Vellis will only use your Data to perform a contract for Vellis Services, where we have your consent, and for statistical analysis to improve the Website, business performance, and planning. Vellis may also use your Data to meet legal and regulatory requirements.

Vellis will not sell your Data to a third party.

To protect your Data and our business, Vellis may ask you to verify your Data from time-to-time.

Vellis takes reasonable measures to ensure security and prevent the unauthorised use, disclosure, publication or dissemination of Data. However, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be uninterrupted or completely secure. Vellis does not warrant the security the security of Data you transmit electronically, and you do so at your own risk.

Third Party Data Protection

To the extent the Website contains links to partner websites and service providers, users must familiarise themselves with privacy policies of such sites. Vellis has no responsibility for third party sites. If you submit Data on third parties to Vellis you warrant and represent you have their consent to do so and hold Vellis harmless for any claims arising therein.

Your Privacy Rights

As the data subject you have the following rights:

• to request that we correct Data we hold if inaccurate or incomplete.
• to request we restrict the use of your Data.
• to ask us to cease to process your Data, including marketing communications.
• to request that we delete Data we hold about you if no longer necessary, consent is withdrawn, or unlawfully processed.
• to request transfer Data to you or a third party, subject to statutory criteria being met.
• to make a complaint to the competent supervisory authority.

Opting out of Marketing Communications

Vellis collects Data when you subscribe to receive updates or Newsletters. Data may include your first name, last name, and email address. Vellis shall treat all Data in accordance with this Policy. You may opt-out of email-based marketing communications at any time by sending an email with “Unsubscribe” to support@vellis.financial, or by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the marketing communication.

Privacy for Employees

Vellis collects Data to undertake human resources processes. Data may include your first name, last name, email address, telephone number, your CV, application letter, job preferences, referee and salary details. Vellis shall collect your consent when you apply to us and treat all data in accordance with this Policy.

Data Retention

Vellis may retain Data until you withdraw your consent. Vellis will then delete and purge Data from its technology systems within 30 days.

How to Exercise Your Rights

To exercise your rights under this Policy, send a written request to support@vellis.financial. Please clearly state the nature of your request and the Data affected.

Vellis will acknowledge your request by email within 5 days. Vellis will respond to your request by email within 30 days. Time count commences from when you submit adequate information to process request.

Vellis reserves the right to reply strictly in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, including the right to limit or deny your request to the extent permissible. Vellis reserves the right to extend the period by a further 30 business days in complex cases.

Vellis will not delete your Data during an ongoing request. Following conclusion of a request, Vellis will then delete and purge Data from its technology systems within 30 days., unless otherwise required to protect a legal right or fulfil a legal obligation.

How to Complain

If you are unhappy with how we process your Data or request, please refer to our Complaints Policy. If we are unable to resolve the issue you have recourse to the Data Protection Commission in your respective country.

Changes to this Policy

This Policy describes our current practices however Vellis may revise this Policy from time to time. The updated Policy will be published on the Website and identified by the publication date. Please revisit this page and review the Policy during your use of the Website to ensure that you are aware of the Data collected, retained, and used, and the authorizations granted by you pursuant to this Policy. Your continued use of the Website following the publication of an update to this Policy confirms your acceptance of the updated Policy terms.

Governing Law

The collection, retention, and use of your Information shall be construed in accordance with, and governed by, the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada as applicable.
